South Africa MensWear fashion week is the first dedicated men’s fashion platform in Africa.This special event for menswear designers and accessories will be held twice a year. This is a great opportunity to menswear designers to get the exposure their require. After review all pictures from the fashion week, we selected 20 best looks.
Cape Town hosted from 04-07 february, the first ever South African Menswear week dedicated to men’s fashion. SAMW showcases the leading menswear designers twice annually in February and July to showcase the Spring/Summer (SS15) and Autumn/Winter (AW15) collections.
“The goal is to be the leading platform in terms of innovation, trends, production and most importantly, the promotion of our designers. It’s about building credibility for the platform that will enable designers to grow their businesses.” – SOUTH AFRICAN MENSWEAR WEEK
On the grungy Upper level of the V&A Waterfront’s Breakwater parking lot, 19 designers from South Africa, Tanzania, Nigeria, Rwanda and Ghana, showcased the last collection in front of 220 seated guests. The SAMW wanted the venue to be clean and simple to focus only on the clothing.

With amazing designers like Mustafa Hassanali or Csquared, the fashion week was a success; Jenevieve Lyons used the color grey for the first time ever and the fashion week was the great opportunity for CTFC young designers to present their work, Lukhanyo Mdingi, and Oath by Rich Mnisi.
International menswear weeks have shown to be incredibly successful, and SA Menswear Week hopes to provide the platform for growth locally as well as developing the Menswear designers and brands within South Africa.
